ALL CHANGES FOR 2010 ARE BOLD & UNDERLINED.

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from publications of or compliance with these rules and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. No expressed or implied warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specifications. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final.

COMPETING MODELS - ELIGIBILITY
1. American/ Foreign made automobile. All cars must remain completely stock bumper to bumper.

2. No convertibles, station wagons, jeeps, pick-ups, probe’s,Porsche, or any exotic cars.

3. Front or rear wheel drive allowed. Maximum wheel base 103”

4. Hood pins OK. Must remove factory hood latch. All doors bolted or pinned shut. No mirrors

5. Must have (2) holes in hood for fire safety. All interior must be removed except dash and all holes in
firewall to be covered with metal. All air bags must be removed.

6. No plastic bodies or homemade bodies, no spoilers. Tow hooks front and rear 3/8” cable minimum.

7. All cars must have 18” high number on both sides and roof and easy to read for scoring.

8. Vehicle Identification Number - The V.I.N. must remain in the OEM location and clearly visible.

9. 1” square or round rub rail allowed, No longer than behind front wheel well to front of rear wheel well.

ENGINES
1. Complete stock Three (3) or Four (4) cylinder engines only and in stock location.

2. No Duel Overhead Cams, No Turbo or Super Charged, V-Tec or Rotary Engines Allowed.

3. No performance parts of any kind allowed. Must have stock exhaust manifold.

4. One 12 Volt Battery only. Battery must be in Marine Type Case if mounted in driver compartment.

CARBURETOR
1. Stock carburetor. Maximum 2 barrel. No Holley Carburetor.

2. Fuel injection permitted if car came originally equipped as fuel injected. If equipped with electric fuel pump, make sure pump is wired thru oil pressure switch. If vehicle is not equipped with a switch, it
must be added.

3. Two throttle return spring mandatory mounted to engine.

SUSPENSION
1. Stock OEM parts only and must be in good condition. No 4 or all wheel drives allowed. No altering of suspension components allowed. No added ballast anywhere on car.

STEERING
1. Stock steering for the make and model. Quick release style OK. Steering box must remain in stock location. Must retain stock steering column.

REAREND, TRANSMISSION, CLUTCHES, FLYWHEELS
1. Any stock transmission for make and model.

2. Stock rear end for that make and model. Locked rear end OK.

3. Clutch pedal must remain stock for make and model.

WHEELS, TIRES, BRAKES
1. Wheels: Optional. Aluminum or steel wheels for make and model of car only.

2. Right front oversize lug nuts required. Recommended for all four wheels.

3. Wheel spacers are not permitted. 7” wide wheels maximum.

4. Any DOT 65, 70 or 75 series street legal tire permitted. All tires must be same size on all four(4)
corners. No winter, all terrain, grooving or altering of tires.

5. Stock brake system for make and model. All brakes must function. NO brake adjusters.

ROLL BARS
1. Modified 4 point steel cage will be required. 1 ½" diameter. .095 wall with guessets as needed welded to (4) 4x4 plated and bolted to floor. No bars may pass thru firewall forward or rear. (3) door bars inside drivers door. Roof bars may not reinforce the body or frame to alter the geometry of the car or to increase performance capabilities but only to serve as a safety feature. No bars further back than rear fender wells.

2. Galvanized aluminum or exhaust type tubing is not permitted.

3. Driver must have 2” of clearance above helmeted head.

4. Approved padding must be used at any point where driver contact may occur.

5. Maximum number of places roll cage may be anchored to car is six (6).

6. No gutting allowed except for roll/door bar clearance.

SEATS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT
1. Aluminum racing seat with headrest only. All seat belts must be a (5) point hookup. Must be made of
nylon webbing and should be replaced each year. Buckles must be of quick release. Shoulder harness must be of Air Force type, nylon only. Seat belts must be bolted to frame of cross member in such a manner as to allow swiveling. Where belt fastens to frame or cross section, it must be anchored below shoulder height. Recommended 3" belts. Passenger belts will NOT BE ALLOWED. Seats and pedals must fit driver. (NO pillows, padding, wooden blocks, etc. allowed)

WINDOW NET MANDATORY
1. WINDSHIELD: Minimum 3 recommended 4 posts and completely covered with screen.

FUEL TANK
1. Gas tanks ahead of rear axle allowed but must install shield under it. Gas tanks behind rear axle must be replaced with maximum 8 gallon fuel cell and relocated in trunk area. Must be securely mounted. Fuel cell recommended. Metal firewall must be between driver and cell. Fuel lines thru driver compartment must be steel.

AGE REQUIREMENT AND DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
1. Age Requirement for Jr. Hornets is 13-17. Happy Hornets is 18+

2. Approved fire suit, gloves are mandatory. Neck brace, hood, socks and shoes recommended.

3. Full face helmet with Lexan Shield Snell SA 2000 or SA 2005 is mandatory.

REMEMBER...THIS IS A CAR YOU RACE...NOT A RACE CAR!!

RULES MAY BE CHANGED OR ALTERED BY OFFICIALS AT ANY TIME FOR THE BETTERMENT OF RACING. DON'T BUILD BEYOND THE RULES. IF IT SAYS YOU CANNOT DO IT, THEN DON'T DO IT!
