When the season opens at MID-NEBR Speedway we're excited about our 15th year of racing action. We will once again be running Awards Plus Junior Hornets, Happy Hornets, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA Modifieds and the Grand National Late Models.
On the off season we worked very hard to make some new improvements to the facility. More clay was added to the track surface, buildings were sided, a section of bleachers were replaced and new handrails were installed on all aisleways for easy access up and down the bleachers for the convenience of our fans.
The Speedway programs (fuel, tires and licenses) was once again a success for the drivers who participated. Just remember those who support the track programs - the track will support the drivers back.
Fuel Program - Sunoco Race Fuel is the track spec fuel that all classes have to run. Remember buying Sunoco thru MID-NEBR Speedway will create POINTS FUND MONEY back.
Tire Program - MID-NEBR Speedway will be the supplier of Hoosier Race Tires for IMCA Modifieds and the Grand National Late Models, who will run Hoosier WRS-2 only. MID-NEBR Speedway has these tires at the office or at the track for your convenience. Remember - the more Hoosiers bought thru the Speedway - THE MORE POINTS MONEY!
Track License Program - 2009 POINTS FUND Thanks to all the Grand National Late Model drivers who participated in this program for the 2009 season. This worked by taking the track licenses, half the registrations, current track points fund along with the Sunoco Race Fuel, Hoosier Racing Tire Programs and Budweiser. The Grand National Late Models benefited from this program. The Grand National Late Model Points Fund will be a total of $8,088.00. The Late Model track license will stay in effect for the 2010 season.
Rules for 2010 - New helmet rule will be Snell SA2000 or SA2005. Mandatory in all classes in 2010. Anyone having to purchase a new helmet please try to update them as soon as possible. Jr Hornets age group is 13-17 year olds and 18 and above will run Happy Hornets. MID-NEBR Speedway will continue to allow 14-15 year olds to race IMCA Hobby Stocks at the Speedway. Anyone wishing to race at that age will have to follow IMCA and MID-NEBR Speedway rules. NO EXCEPTIONS! The Hornet class has a few minor changes. No changes in the Grand National Late Model rules. Anyone wanting to run a Crate Engine option in the GNLM class please contact Doug for further information.
If you have any questions, please call. I will be happy to talk to anyone with any questions or problems. Thanks again for all your support. Have a safe holiday and we look forward to seeing you in 2010.
